The OIFY

What is it?

Probably the most famous of the "secret" forums, the OIFY was created by Garry in 2005 for God knows what reason. Over the years, it's gone through many stages, but ever since being hidden and then abandoned and then reopened and hidden again, it's viewership is far down. Most "old" OIFYers (actually usually from no earlier than '07) frequently complain about the quality of the forum, and Facepunch in general.

So What's the Deal?

Generally speaking, if you notice a poorly punctuated or spelled post in General Discussion, made by a user who's been around since 2007, if the post contains the word "hoLLa" or "~FUCK~", OR if the user's avatar contains the words "Bape," "Doug," "OIFY," "Asher Roth" or "Voland," the user is likely an OIFYer.

After a while, spotting users of the OIFY becomes a matter of intuition, as their posts outside of their own forum all have a characteristic feel to them, that's intended to create dramatic and literary irony, which is their favorite brand of humor. The majority of Facepunch has yet to catch on to their game.

FUN FACTS: The letters "OIFY" don't officially stand for anything. Some people will tell you that it stands for "Out It Find You'll" but OIFYers will almost always dispute this, including Greeman and other members of the CCOF.

There also exists a Fakepunch version of the OIFY, but I'm fairly certain that you all know everything there is to know about it, and can agree that it's nothing all that special.

#2. The Goldmember Forum

What is it?

The Goldmember forum is obviously well-known -- half the users of Facepunch can now view it - but it has consistently tormented the individuals who cannot access it ever since Garry did away with the option to purchase Gold Member (in the infamous Monkey_123 incident). Many things have been said about the Gold Member's Forum (or Gold Member Crack Lounge), including that CP and Warez are allowed inside, since Google does not index its contents. Screengrabs from the forum, however, are few and far between, and very precious few give us much information about it.

So What's the Deal?

Gold Membership recently ballooned when Garry changed the requirements for Gold Membership to a mere 2 years and 2,000 posts. When asked about it, Garry stated that the Gold Membership was never supposed to be as big a deal as it was anyhow, and the change brought the number of gold members closer to where he wanted it. Nevertheless, there was no denying that this was a huge change: It brought the number of active golds from under 100 to somewhere in the low four figures. Reactions varied greatly. The Endgame Forum

What is it?

The once password-protected forum that was the solution to the modteam riddle. I really don't know much about this, other than the fact that the password was somehow leaked to CCOF (oh, I didn't tell you about them? They're the cool cats of facepunch- an OIFY-based steamgroup that hangs out in group chat a lot) and as a result the forum became a bit of a second OIFY. However, most OIFYers much prefer to post in the actual OIFY rather than in the Endgame forum, so once the possibility of Bape (an OIFYer) getting moderator there went out the window, most of them left and never looked back.

So What's the Deal?

Not much goes down there anymore, although this is a pretty cool thread I guess.
